Our Story

Our History

El Dorado Trading has it’s origins with its founder’s path that led him along a path from jeweler to gold miner to gold trader.

Founded by Mr. Tamesh Jagmohan over two decades ago, El Dorado Trading has its beginnings in the selling of jewelry. At an early age, when Mr. Jagmohan was just in high school, his father engaged him in the jewellery-trading culture, teaching him all the essentials and the quirks of buying and selling gold.

Building upon this early introduction, in 1991 at the age of 17, Jagmohan started a gold jewelry business and a few years later, El Dorado Trading was established, and obtained their licence to export gold internationally in 1999. Along this journey, El Dorado Trading became a member of the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miner’s Association and became recognized for their strong work ethic, core values and customer service.

Our founder with his own mining experiences understood that setting up buying offices closer to the miners would better serve the company’s suppliers. This enables the company to grow its buying volumes year over year and helps distinguish it from other official dealers of the Guyana Gold Board (GGB).

Our Future

El Dorado Trading is committed to improving transparency and accountability in its supply chains. The company has established strong management controls and will continue to improve upon them every year. Assisting upstream suppliers to ensure that their operations meet global expectations for Artisanal and Small Mining operations (ASMs).

The support received is credited to the trust established with their customers and the gold mining community and this trust is based upon the continued transparency in their relationships and adherence to their strong values and globally recognized standards.

We find El Dorado Trading and its management is driven by a strong desire to sustain client’s satisfaction in every regard. We rate their customers’ services as excellent and genuine. It is the most trusted gold dealer in our view. We are humbled to be part of this experience.
