Community Food Relief
El Dorado Trading, under the leadership of Tamesh Jagmohan, assessed the needs of a number of indigenous communities in Guyana. Members of these communities were very restricted in their movements dues to both Covid-19 lockdown as well as heavy flooding. This directly impacted their ability to work and travel. El Dorado Trading organized relief deliveries of food to support these communities.
Staff from El Dorado Trading delivered bags of food to the communities of: Bethany, Capoey, Lethem, Mashabo, and Port Kaituma.
Bethany is an Indigenous community of about 500 people located on the Araburia River.
The food relief was brought in by boat to Bethany as there are no roads to village.
